Listers, This is indeed good news. We have a lot of hope in Mucheru and Victor Kyalo industry veterans who have indeed worked their way through the trenches. Most importantly we hope to see the return of a multi stakeholder form of engagement in the sector which we have been yearning for in a while. I think as a sector we might need to prepare a wish list for our new leaders and most importantly commit to work with them towards achieving their mandate. The reshuffle is timely still it comes at the end of the year and will allow us to start 2016 on a new slate. We had a "Huge" discussion on this mtandao on the BlockChains this month and reflecting on it as a benchmark, we cannot confidently say that there is an ICTWise Community to be an advisor on this subject matter. Yes we had great insights but ...it doesn't feel as though we have the nail on it in terms of enough ICTWise resource people to wade with through this topic and execution if warranted. I still do not understand why and Kenya is touted to be the Silicon Savannah???? What this might do is then leave the most trusted man financial-wise in Kenya - the Governor to the edge of his seat - to protect the economy. Yes, still the best crew for this is the ICTWise. There is a clear and present danger of missing out on a huge opportunity in this space because of the 'wait & see' attitude from the regulator. This is because Kenya currently doesn’t have systems and capabilities to handle virtual currencies. Shows demonstrated capacity to manage funds, conduct project activities and document outcomes effectively, within the specified budget and time limits. Is submitted by a public or private sector organizations, university, or research and development institutions or non-government organizations. Individuals are not eligible to apply. Has potential for growth or further development and has demonstrated scalability. Outlines engagement within the community relevant to the project proposed. Has an innovative approach to addressing issues that that have been clearly identified and defined as part of the proposal. Has a relationship with other existing projects at a regional/global level Provides a realistic budget and time frame proposal. Please note that administrative overheads will not be funded. Project proposals that exceed the maximum Grant amount and timeline must specify where the additional funds will be obtained to bring the project to completion.
