Some even talk about the collapse of the two roles into one. Here are a few predictions:- - In a few years CMOs will spend more on technology – digital marketing, Analytics, BI, Enterprise Marketing Management (EMM) etc. – than CIOs. This you can take to the bank. - Globally the $1 trillion marketing industry is feeling the impact of software eating marketing. The Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANET) in collaboration with @iLabAfrica are organising a stakeholder forum on the 4th of July to discuss the laptop for Schools initiative that is due to be rolled out by the Government. This forum invites all stakeholders in the education and ICT sector to present position papers regarding this initiative. I welcome you to participate by presenting your views on the following aspects of the Laptop for Schools Initiative: 1. What is the device? 2. What is the nature of the content? (Format, mode of delivery etc) 3. Who will generate the content and carry out QA? 4. Monitoring and Evaluation System 5. Security of the Devices 6. Disposal of Devices The forum will take place on 4th July from 9am to 5pm in the Strathmore University Auditorium. Position papers are welcome. The Commission today revised the broadcasting frequency fees in an attempt to address the existing disparities in the distribution and use of broadcasting spectrum in the country. The new charging methodology shall ensure fair distribution of broadcasting frequencies, and promote competition in the sub-sector. In addition, the methodology will enhance plurality and diversity of views and opinions as envisaged in the ICT Sector Policy Guidelines and the Kenya Information and Communications Act, CAP 411A. The new charges will be based on the following formula: New frequency fee payable per site = (2n-1) x current fee. Using this formula, the fee payable per site is as follows: No. of Frequencies Zone A (High Congestion Zone) Zone B (Low Congestion Zone) Broadcaster with 1 frequency in one site FM: KShs. 130,000/= p.a.
