Hi Listers, Americans have more money to spend on the entrepreneurship and taking risk on innovation which is very much part of their culture. It’s not about being stupid nor smart, it all gravitates to the real fact that Africa does not have the money to play with, nor does it have the culture of entrepreneurship to play with huge sums of money, but this is slowly coming, with the applications that we have seen, and Africa will reach this level. Given that gTLDs were also invented by the USA, it’s not surprising that people in US took more chance thus the many applicant, besides, do not forget that most of the new gTLD applications were brand protection names, given that most companies as well are western it’s only natural that the numbers would weigh in depending on the number of firms. I believe that Africa will soon be able to come at par, with the rest of the other developed nations, just a little more effort from the government to the Private sector. Gideon Rop.
